Techno 5 Mixes.   Go to Music Search

The mixes on this page are used with the 5 programme. If any of the mixes contain any samples from the other EJay programmes then you will not be able to hear the full mix unless you have these programmes as well... The mixes are all zipped, because they are faster for you to download. If a mix has any "imported" or "tweeked" samples, they are normally saved into the mix, but it makes the file size much larger. Any message or text that you want to send with your mix will be added as well, unless stated otherwise..

Please note right mouse clicking the download buttons on this page and choosing save as will not work as they are only links to the actual download page in order for downloads to be counted.

Webmaster Review: This mix is better than the previous submission by Dj Psycho. This one seems to have more thought in its structure and flows much better. It is a wee bit repetitive in places, as despite improvement the artist is still yet to understand fully the balance between variation and repetition. Overall I score this mix 6.5 out of 10 and would say it would be very suitable for filmscore or computer game music. I invite other visitors to have a listen and comment on this mix.

Webmaster Review: This track is of a structure not so different from early old skool ( The Bannana Song by G.S.P springs to mind released in 1992 ).It begins with a bass drum and hi hat. A dominant bass line enters and steadily more percussion leading to a clap drum roll and a reverse cymbal. At the 36 second mark there is a synth bass riff on the sample "E-Bass Danza 1". I mention that by name as it of my opinion that it should be used with care, for example layered within a harmony of more than instrument. It is not all the artists fault as really it is shame on the now defunct empire for including it. Ejayers expected a standard of instrument sound and this is most definitely not it. Further to my opinion this is the worst part of this mix as it sounds like music my early Sinclair Spectrum ( over 25 years ago ) produced. It is however an artist' s responsibility to choose good sounds, although it is possible empire was trusted too much here. Slowly a better trance/rave synth line is faded in, and after 1 minute it provides a powerful solo. This flows to a reverse cymbal which announces a very good acid house lead sample, bass drum and hat, shortly joined by a clap. This section ends a little prematurely as my foot started tapping at the 1 minute 40 second mark. Albeit an intelligent clap roll and reverse cymbal is used to end the section. To repeat this longer would have required ever another melodic instrument, a fade out and back in of the acid instrument, another percussive instrument added to later repetitions, or an occasional vocal. The section could have been repeated a further 30 seconds which may seem a short time but when you listen it makes a big difference. Of at the 1 min 40 sec mark there is now something that should have been played earlier instead of the "E-Bass Danza 1" section. Well of course it is another rave bass line but this time it being answered by playing in a higher chord on later repeats. It is of course the "hook" because it is extremely catchy, and I would have structured the track round it for old skool style. I have already supplied the artist with a remix in modern style just to demonstrate flow, so I did not do this. I would like to hear Dj Psycho do it though. This "hook" repeats until the 2 min 7 sec mark, after which there is another cymbal and a synth lead, new drum beat and finally the classical violin and opera singing section. This is near the end of the track and its rave so your listener wants to dance particularly as they have already heard the rhythm drop many times. I am going to suggest one way of keeping this track flowing so that at the end your listener is on a natural high, as there are others. My way takes into consideration there was no harm in fading the higher synth sample from 2:14 in whilst the hook continues to play. Towards the end the hook can fade out leaving the synthesizer playing (acting like a string section) solo with/without drum pattern as the classical piece is faded in. These two pieces played together are the concluding hook that leaves the listener with their arms in the air. My score is 5 out of 10. It is early but competent material for a fairly young producer, who is yet to get a full understanding of the potential of the Techno 5 package. There are some very good ideas, and I see an understanding of musical structure. By modern standards there is a weakness in flow and If my ideas were attempted this track would go up in score. On the other hand dj Psycho may just have produced something avante-garde and yet to be appreciated. I invite others to please listen and make their own comments.

Webmaster Review: My score for your mix is 8 out of 10 it is very atmospheric and original piece of electro, very suitable music for sci-fi movie, reminds me a little of Vangelis which is quite a compliment. I loved your track. My only Improvement I can suggest is perhaps is the track being a little longer or the inclusion of a musical section that is dramatic at the middle or end.

My first mix with t5 and it's a mix between electro and techno. It's a try out because the program is new for me.Greetings Andy

Webmaster Review: The track is well put together. The Planet mover (PM) as an accent every 4 bars, later every 2 bars works well. Drums build well starting with hat at bar 9, and extra snare. A break at bar 23 with clap and lighter bass drum works well. Digi Fault adds interest to the mix. Later robot vox and synth prevents the track from becoming repetitive, as does later break. The track finishes appropriately .I score this track with a 6. Highly skilled mix but lacks a little imagination in places.

Created end of February 2008. This the first collaboration by Noah and me. This is quite good but we are going to get better. The mix to demonstrate that certin base line melody combinations will get boring unless a discord or out of tune moment is included which I am sure those with a keen music ear will notice.
