Rock version of a "calling love" vocals set. I like especially how the guitar worked out during the verse.

US2K Review: This rock song begins immediate with the vocal 'I'm Calling For Your Love', followed by a bass drum fill which announces a catchy guitar rhythm. The bass drum fill is used once again to introduce a full rock drum pattern including what sounds like a human free style snare pattern. The combination of the drum pattern with the guitar is well catchy (chorus hook I think).

To add further interest to the song there is a guitar feedback screech which is followed by a more delicate acoustic guitar lead section with no drums which reflects and answers the previous musical section nicely. After this point the rhythm guitar and drum section returns with a bass guitar. Vocals based on the title also are heard up to the 33 second song position and are used to introduce along with a snare drum roll , what sounds like a bridge section.

The bridge has an alternative musical arrangement of just drums, bass line and repeats of parts of the vocals. A crash and a snare roll introduces a verse section which has a one chord chugging guitar rhythm This is another vocal which is interesting but then gets confused because the vocal from the chorus section return and in my opinion do now work so well. At the one minute twenty five seconds position this verse finishes and the catchy guitar rhythm hook section returns after a snare roll. After a few repeats the delicate acoustic guitar and hook sections again.

Another snare roll introduces a new fresh vocal accompanied by bass and drums alone again, this would have been better for the first verse in my opinion too, although after a drum fill the theme from the first verse returns but it sounds better this time, maybe because a vocal based on the chorus is fresher this time because of the alternative vocal before.

The chorus returns after the two minute thirty two seconds position, followed a powerful drum fill and a really interesting middle eight bridge (or would have been had the 'Give me All Your Love' vocal not been already over used).

The alternative guitar and bass line for the middle eight bridge section is brilliant, I wonder if it would have worked better as an instrumental. At the three minute eight seconds position an intelligent touch is used which is the dropping of all instruments including drums to allow the echo of the lead vocal to re-introduce variations of the verse and chorus. The song continues and the vocal becomes really grating (put the singer out of their misery, shorter song perhaps). The song finally finishes at the five minute seven seconds position on drums, percussion and what sounds like a whoosh sound.

My evaluation of this song is: Musical structure and arrangement=8 (Middle 8 ruined by vocal), Catchiness=7(excellent guitar hook dragged down by repetitious vocal), Use of variation=5, (vocal again), Use of drum fills and sound effects to announce changes=9, Actual singing=8, Use of mastering effects including reverb, equalisation and stereo position 10, demonstration of musical skill=9.

My final overall score for this mix is 8 out of 10. This song starts off as very competent rock/pop and ends up let down by the overuse of the same vocals.

US2K Review: This is the second part of Dj Mood' s excellent minimal techno mix. This mix begins with some chimes (very old skool and much appreciated, Colin Dale of Kiss FM would have cheered at their sound) and both click, cymbal and ethnic or Latin drum percussion which is used to flow the listener for 30 seconds until a synth sequence is reached which sounds almost laughter.

The laughter is soon joined by a sub bass line, but having done its job to add interest and announce changes to the mix, the synth laughter exits the mix arrangement allowing the percussion to take the lead, enhanced by an accenting snare/clap on every beat. Although the roots of the mix are house music which has potential to be monotonous, the percussion is more danceable than you would expect, the underlying drum groove is like a four on the floor with a little bit of a swinging syncopation. This theme is kept interesting up to the one minute 14 second position with subtle drum or percussion changes, possible even human drum hits at times, the periodic removal and return of the sub bass line and occasional sound effects or vox. After this point the conclusion of the mix is announced with what sounds like a synthetic orchestral crash or stab.

The ending of this mix is of course a coda based on the percussion from earlier with a few extra percussive fills and snare hits. The final end to the mix begins with the departure of the sub bass line, and all percussion except the bass drum and snares. This pattern is faded out to silence at the one minute forty two second position.

My evaluation of the mix is that is it scores the following: musical structure =8, Variation of mix=7, Catchiness=8 (percussion is addictive), Use of vox, sound effects, drum fills to announce changes or maintain mix interest=9, Mastering such as reverb, delay, equalisation, stereo-positioning =9, general musical skill demonstrated=8. My overall final score is 8 out of 10. This is a good listen for minimal techno fans but the next parts get better so stay tuned...

US2K Review: I cannot really review or score this submission as it sounds more like a dj promo mix instead of a single composition. Normally even a dj mix I can score or review but each track seems a little too short although those teaser sections sound very well produced with catchy hook melodies. I am unsure why Dj Mox submitted this promo to me, but would love to hear the full length tracks.

Bass Mom & Dj CrusadeReview: I love classical music and this track takes me away! This is this reviewers first time reviewing for this artist and I like what I hear so far with this track! it has a sweet sound yet climaxes to a powerful theatrical sound and the use of the obo and the cello and the saxaphone and the violin work very well with one another as does the piano which adds variation to this mix. It is a bit lengthy but still leaves me with a feeling that I have just left the hall where the orchestra was playing! I give this track a solid 10 for creativity, and overall production as this could make for a very good film score like the one I wrote!!! Well done!

US2K Review: A review will follwo shortly but in the mean-time my provisional score of 8 out of 10. The composition demonstrates top musical ability, pity about the minor distortion.

US2K Review: This begins immediately with a funky bass drum, syncopated snare drum pattern with variations and fills. The groove a little like the one used for the 'Bucketheads' classic funky dance record, 'The Bomb' so the feet already wants to dance.

Four seconds later there are a few rising in loudness atmospheric reverb treated orchestral stabs and crashes that seem to be accented the end of each set of 4 to 8 bars whilst allowing a funky lead brass line and organ to be faded and filter swept in discretely. The fade eventually results in all of the new arrangement being are at "full strength" around the thirty three seconds position. The musical result is already seriously `funky house` hook (main hook) and groove, but further interest is yet added with the use of some subtle vocal shouts, introduced by a jazz cymbal which remains afterwards to add energy to strategic bar beats. This theme continues to the fifty six seconds position with occasional louder shouts, then to give the listener (dancer maybe) a surprise, half the hook is temporarily repeated a few times. This continues until a higher in velocity crash introduces itself and a female chanting vocal to add more excitement to the mix, giving it a carnival or street part feel.

The new theme continues to the two minute two second position at which point a delay treated organ plays a downward ending note scale (one similar to when someone loses in a game show) is used to introduce a bridge or middle eight section for the mix.

The bridge begins with a few further notes from that instrument before a few the drum pattern solos with what is like a watery brook with frogs ( or it could be an illusion as a result of other atmospheric sounds delay trails merging to ambience). In any case a few stabs of the organ from earlier and the main hook is faded/swept in again and vox is steadily added, the female chanting last.

Variation to the sound is ensured by changing the vox heard as the mix progresses to the conclusion. The mentioned conclusion is introduced by the same "game show loser" scale, and consists of simply the drum pattern and numerous vocals, and occasional brass or organ stabs. This mix is of course part of a dj set and so was intended to fade to the next in the set, but instead to confine the production to single mix boundaries is faded out, eventually to silence at the four minute five seconds position.

So my final score consists of the following factors, variation=8, catchiness=9, arrangement=8, mastering, delay etc. and instrument positioning=9, Use of drum rolls or sound effects to announce changes=10, musical structure=8, general musical skill=9. My overall score for a very good funky house record is 9 out of 10.
